{ Event } Thanksgiving 2012

Finally, at 31 years old, I made my first turkey and hosted Thanksgiving dinner for my small side of the family. I am proud to say it was a delicious success! I wanted to share a few images from the day.

Of course, I was most excited about decorating, setting my table and making some cute place cards. I even got fancy and bought some cloth napkins.

I am pretty frugal, so I always look for ways to do things on the cheap without sacrificing style. My chargers are from the Dollar Tree. I found the glasses ($2 ea), napkins ($4 / 8) and gold candles ($2 / 4) and glitter runner ($4)  at the Christmas Tree Shop.  Everything else I already had.

Also, just a side note, my chandelier was a yard sale find ($3), my husband spray painted and hung the crystal beads. One of my best finds ever -- and it looked so pretty with the gold candlesticks.

And my favorite moment of the day....Mr. Ace thought he had died and gone to heaven when I pulled the turkey out of the oven :) Yes, he did get his own plate.

Jen and Matt had a "modified" beach wedding. The wedding was held at the Lancaster Marriott, so Jen brought the laid back beach style inside.

There were so many details with this wedding. Right down to the basket of flip flops Jen and Matt provided for their guests, so they could kick of their shoes and really enjoy the party!

I loved working with Jen, she had a lot of great ideas and was so excited to see it all come together.

Here are a few lovely images from their wedding captured by The Susquehanna Photographic.  You can actually feel the fun!

Nicole and Stephen kept it sweet and simple. It goes to show a little really does go a long way. The raspberry purple paper pops against the neutral sand and ivory paper and ribbon. Love it!

Congratulations to Nicole and Stephen.

{ Details } Pretty Numbers

You've picked out your linens and decided on centerpieces for the big day with great care. Now why would you want those cheesy, plastic black and white table numbers as the finishing touch?

Complete your table with a beautiful table number. Think about whether you would like a tented card, or a flat card that can slip into a decorative frame or easel.

Many couples are getting extra creative with their tables by naming or using numbers that have special significance to them.  For example, the a street address of a first apartment, birthdays, or the date they met. The list goes on.

It can be simple or layered with rhinestones, either way it's a fantastic detail not to forget.

Navy and hot pink invitations made for a pretty, preppy style for Jessica and Michael's wedding stationery.

The monogram from the invitation was carried throughout the wedding stationery. Other pieces that were designed: place cards, signage, a large seating chart (not shown) and favor stickers.

A great tip for indicating guest meal selections is by using color rhinestones. Blue (for beef) and pink (for chicken) stones were used on the top of their place cards.

Another cool idea I've never seen... they used cd sleeves for their cookie favors. I made the sticker wrap to keep the sleeve closed.

Congratulations to Jessica and Michael!

A fun, modern look for Courtney and Greg's June wedding. They chose a nautical theme for their wedding overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. The red, gray and navy are a sharp combo!

Congrats to Courtney & Greg!

Lamanda and Ryan had a gorgeous, elegant (and very pink) wedding and reception at Regents' Glen Box Hill Mansion this past June.

Lamanda is a such sweet person and I really enjoyed working with her to design the invitations and matching pieces. She was genuinely so excited!  Everything pulled together beautifully. Their wedding was even featured in a recent issue of Dream Weddings magazine.

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Mills!

Morgan and James were another one of my long-distance couples. They live in NYC, but were getting married in Pittsburgh, PA.

Morgan and James wanted to incorporate a New York feel into their June wedding. The ceremony and reception was held at the Fairmont Pittsburgh, a luxury hotel that has a modern  NY vibe. They chose a classic color scheme of ivory and black.

New York themed save the dates were mailed out first. Then, sleek black pocket -style wedding invitations really set the tone for the wedding.

A number of other stationery pieces were designed to match, including ceremony programs, menu card, place cards, seating chart, table numbers and thank you notes.

It was a pleasure working with Morgan and James from afar.  My very best wishes to these New York newlyweds!

I met Natalie and William in February and they were in a pinch to get their invitations out the door on time. Natalie loved Lauren and Martin's classic style invitation (black & ivory) but wanted to change the colors to fit their wedding.

This is a great example of my semi-custom design option. The semi-custom option allows you to take one of my invitation design and change the colors, papers and wording to fit your wedding. The fonts and artwork stays as-is.

I decided to offer this option starting in 2012 after several requests of the same invitation. It's great if your time-frame doesn't allow for the full custom invitation option.

Cheers to Natalie and William!
